The movie fulfilled by crime, thriller & Drama which is directed by Rahul Dholakia and produced by Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani and Gauri Khan under the banner of Excel Entertainment and Red Chillies Entertainment.

Shahrukh Khan, Mahira Khan & Bollywood’s star Dashrath Manjhi Nawazuddin Siddiqui are playing lead role in the movie. They are playing roles as : Shahrukh Khan as Raees Alam, Mahira Khan as Mohsina & Nawazuddin Siddiqui as ACP Ghulam Patel. The first poster and official teaser of the movie ‘Raees’ has been revealed publically. The movie is scheduled to be released on 8 July 2016 on EID but due to some reason, the movie has been rescheduled to 25th Jan 2017.

Set in 1980s Kalyan, it shows the story of a cruel and clever bootlegger (played by Shah Rukh Khan) whose business is seriously challenged and eventually thwarted by a tough cop Ghulam Patel (played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui).

The film criticizes the prohibition of alcohol, prostitution, and illegal drugs in Gujarat. The film is loosely based on the life of Ahmedabad-based Don Abdul Latif.
